Essex County Industrial Development Agency
Works to create a viable business atmosphere that will attract compatible and diverse sustainable economic development opportunities while focusing on major assets, retention / expansion projects, quality of life and job creation. The Essex County IDA has a variety of financing opportunities available including a business loan program.
North Country Chamber of Commerce
A regional chamber serving Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton and northern Warren Counties in New York State and southern Quebec. Services and activities include economic development, small business support, government affairs, Quebec-New York relations, health insurance, tourism promotion and development, and industrial support services.
North Country Alliance
NCA is an alliance of businesses and economic development organizations working together to grow the northern New York region. NCA manages a loan fund and works with Albany to make sure New York is a great place for your business to do business.

SUNY Canton Small Business Development Center
The SBDC offers free direct counseling and a wide range of management and technical assistance services. It can help start-ups develop a business plan, assist existing businesses prepare to expand, or offer resources for industry-specific topics.
Village of Saranac Lake Community Development
Responsible for a diverse set of programs that help make Saranac Lake a special place for locals to live and a remarkable place for visitors. The department identifies and pursues state and federal funding for economic development, recreation, housing, public facilities, infrastructure and community planning projects.
North Country Workforce Development Board
Through its OneWorkSource Centers, NCWDB brings employment and training services to one location, making it easier for job seekers to find gainful employment and for employers to find trained employees. The centers provide lists of job vacancies; career options; relevant employment trends; instruction on how to conduct a job search, write a resume and interview with an employer; and referral to training programs.
Workforce Development Institute
Workforce Development Institute (WDI) is a statewide nonprofit that works to grow and keep good jobs in NYS. It uses a range of tools, including “boots on the ground” information, workforce expertise and funding, to facilitate projects that build workforce skills and strengthen employers’ ability to hire, promote, and retain workers.
