The Carry was founded by the Franklin County Economic Development Corp., with partners Point Positive and the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.
Together they set out to create a dynamic and flexible work space for Saranac Lake’s growing community of entrepreneurs that encourages collaboration and provides connections to the resources they need.
Franklin County Economic Development Corp.
Vibrant communities depend on active downtowns, and active downtowns depend on bold entrepreneurs. The Carry is a key part of the FCEDC’s ongoing efforts to bolster the region’s entrepreneurial culture.
To strengthen our Main Streets and downtowns, provide opportunities for entrepreneurs to thrive, and encourage residents and visitors to shop local, the FCEDC has:
- Won grants worth more than $1.2 million to renovate buildings, improve facades and provide rent assistance in Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake and Malone.
- Created a revolving loan fund to support businesses across the Tri-Lakes region, awarding more than $400,000 since 2017.
- Joined Main Street America, a nationally recognized program focused exclusively on main street and downtown revitalization.
